Welcome to Kells Infant's Website.
My name is Mrs Wendy Figes, I am the headteacher at Kells Infants School. I have several decades of experience as a teacher and have been a headteacher since 2011. It is wonderful to be part of this community, and to have the chance to make a difference to the lives of its youngest people.
One of my key roles in school is to ensure that all children are safe and well cared for. This includes their safety within school and ensuring that their home lives are positive and allow them to thrive. As a school we have a duty of care to our children and their families, and I am happy to work with any family expriencing challenges, to ensure that they get the best outcomes for children.
Alongside this, I am responsible for overseeing key groups in school, including those with learning and health-based needs. Please contact me directly if you are concerned about your child in this regard.
In order for your child to reach their potential, barriers to learning need to be removed and all children need to experience quality teaching and a quality curriculum. I am working with all staff to constantly improve the teaching and learning so that it can lead to outstanding results. If you have any queries about our curriculum or want to know how you can help your child at home please speak with your child's class teacher.
Thank you for welcoming me to your community, together, we can ensure your child has the best possible start.
